Some midweek madness at my favourite park lake!!🤞🏻
I decided to take a short break from the rush and go and target some wild park lake carps.🎣🎣
Driving down to the water I see that my usual spot is taken and that made me decide to fish the swim next to it. Seeing a lot of fish playing and activity I decided to fish to margin on the opposite side marked out at around 100m…
Not long after casting in a land a stunning carp of 3kg, I bait up and get it back on its spot. With another 2 runs and losing them because of tackle failure I started thinking it’s time to go👋🏻 however deciding to sit for another hour and keep the hopes up high for that wild carp to come past. I sit and enjoy the nature with the birds cheering and fish jumping I decide to take out my one rod rebait it and slowly start packing up… with a few liners and positive line drops I closely watch my rod will walking back to put my box in the bakkie. In the side of my eye I see my line shoot up and slowly start pulling my reel…
With a massive smile I pick up my rod and tell myself that it’s another guppy (small fish) playing the fish in about 35m from the side the fish gets its life and starts pulling me around the lake noticing that this is a big fish I calm myself with soft hand as I know that my size 1 hook and 7lb hook line is bringing a knife to a gun fight however I believe in my equipment!
(45min) later with a 10ft rods small 5000 reel I land a new PB and a lean wild park lake carp of 10,02kg
What a wonderful blessing.✨
