Korda South Africa team members Gilbert Foxcroft & Adriaan van der Merwe spent a 3 nighter with Ferouz and his team from Blas Auto Styling and fishing all the way from Piet Retief at Donaldson Dam just two days before the first cold front of the 2025 winter.

Ferouz ordered a few kilograms of Rich Baits NEW Krill Active Freezer Boilies and Gilbert added some Mainline Baits ISO

Fish 15mm Boilies, pellet, Hemp and Buckwheat with some added attraction from the Mainline Baits Smart Squid and Smart ISO Fish liquid.

The precise mix was constructed as follows:

2kg of flattened Krill Active Freezer boilies, about 1/2kg each Mainline Link and ISO Fish 15mm boilies, 1kg Hemp and 1kg Buckwhear and mixed well. To this about 1kg of ISO Fish pellet was added and left for about 30min to work its magic.

Lead Systems of choice consisted of Heli-Safe and Hybrio Leadclip leadcore leaders and 4oz Korda Distance leads.

Their choice of rigs were the ever faithful Korda Sinner rigs with size 4 Krank hooks and the favored Hinged Chod Rig.

Hookbaits of choice fell on 15mm Mainline High Leakage Pineapple and Tutti Frutti Pop-Ups with the High Leakage pop-ups responsible for 6 carp, 2 fish to the Tutti Frutti and one fish to a match the hatch 15mm Iso FISH pop-up.

The sizes ranged from 8kg to 15,33kg, including two personal bests for Ferouz.

Baiting up was simple with one scoop of feed dropped over each of the hookbaits. Proof that you don’t need to over complicate things for the fish to have a party.
